Bio

My Name is Landyn Olson, I am a running start student who is enrolled at Marysville Getchell High School. I chose to take classes at EvCC because I thought it would be a great opportunity to earn college credits. Sports and staying active is a big part of my life I play football and basketball. I spend my weekends with friends, family and working at Dairy Queen.

I am big into sports so I feel like I would lean towards that side of Wikipedia. The NFL and NBA in particular because I hold a lot of knowledge about things and people pertaining to those leagues. I may also be interested in pages that have to do with marvel movies because I am really into them. But I look forward to learning more about the different parts of Wikipedia because I have never gone farther than just searching random Wikipedia pages. I just recently learned it has a home page and I am not quite sure everything else the site has to offer yet.

Article Evaluation

Basketball has always been a big part of my life as I have played since kindergarten. I also enjoy watching the sport whether it be college or the NBA and I am a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder. But it has always been tough is knowing that there is no NBA team in Seattle as the Supersonic's relocated in 2007. But I ave always been interested in the team and the possibility of them coming back. I visited the Seattle SuperSonics page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on its empty season-by-season record section, scarce uniform information, and it also had some citations missing

Season-by-season record

The article contained an entire empty section. All it had was a link to another article and served little to no purpose on the page. The SuperSonics season by season record is something relevant and should be included. If this part was edited and included the statistics it should, the page would make more sense. the link shows the season by season records but these should just be directly added to the page instead of it being a separate one.

Uniforms

The uniforms are talked about very broadly and don't have very many details included. The section also only includes a picture of the mascot's jersey from the most recent season and clip art of the most recent jerseys. This section of the article could benefit from more pictures of all the jerseys the SuperSonics wore during their tenure in the NBA.

Missing Citations

Some statements in the article are made with a lack of citations to back up the information. Stemming mostly from the section referring to a possible relocation to Seattle. The article included notes after the statements saying they needed proper citations. There are over ten different notes on the page referring to the lack of reliable sources but nothing seems to have been done by anyone to fix it.

Summary

This article has a fair amount of information about the franchise. I'd rate it as a decent page because of the lack of detail and missing citations. The three sections of this article I commented on could all benefit from some changes.

In addition, I edited the SuperSonics page for the assignment and I added Nick Collison's number four to the retired jersey numbers because it was missing from the list.
