EN-junior

This is a tentative proposal for a version of the English Wikipedia targeted toward children (6-12?). If a topic is taught in schools before the age of 12 then I could envision it in EN-junior.

Sensible aims:

• Appropriate reading age and content (as opposed to "Simple English").
• Articles of particular interest to children.
• Avoid objectionable content (in terms of "adult topics").

The English and Simple English editions of wikipedia provide plenty of content for starting EN-junior. Another useful source is wikibooks, especially Wikijunior.
