Early on Steven Mc was influenced by different genres of music that included: Jazz, Rock, Country, R&B, Pop, Disco, Dance, House and Techno. In the late 1970's, at the height of the Disco era, Steven Mc sought after remixes known then as 12 inch versions of some of the Diso Era's most notable talent such as: Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, Musique, Inner Life and High Fashion featuring then neighbor and former first lady of Def Jam Alyson Williams "Just Call My Name".

SM DPR Productions officially formed in 2005. With critically acclaimed and recognizable remixes of some of House Music most notable tracks such as: Kathy Sledge and Adam Barta "Give Yourself Up" (SM DPR Productions House ReMix) and a re-edit of Carl Bean's Gay Pride anthem "I Was Born This Way" (Bless you for allowing your creative talents to breathe new life into my labor of love!!!!!!!!! Yours Creatively, Archbishop Carl Bean).

In October of 2011, SM DPR Productions joined the internet radio family of Sobel Productions (Barbara Sobel). Due to a contract dispute SM DPR Productions and Sobel Productions was short lived. Currently, SM DPR Productions is still remixing and reinventing club classics for fans around the world.

Recently, SM DPR Productions remixed several tracks of drag queen icon Rupaul. One in particular from the LP "Foxy Lady" called "Snatched for the GODS (SM DPR Productions Extended Remix), another Rupaul classic track "Jealous Of My Boogie" (SM DPR Productions Green Eyed Monster Mix)and a Rupaul Medley of classic tracks totally remixed by SM DPR Productions which is currently getting rave reviews around the world.
