Welcome to my Wikipedia page. My name is Subrina Stephenson-Miller, a second-year Primary Education Student at the College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE). I specialize in the areas of Language Arts and Social Studies. I believe that an educated nation is a better nation and I am eager to contribute to the nation's education using technology to bridge the gap in educational diversity. Technology has been evolving and is frequent in all aspects of life, including, the classrooms.

My Philosophy for Using Technology in Education

"Technology, bridging the gap in educational diversities" is my philosophy, which sums up my conviction that improvements in technology may both solve and reduce educational inequities. I have recognized that gaps in access to resources, financial status, and geographic location can all lead to unequal learning possibilities. I believe that despite these differences, educational institutions can offer equitable access to high-quality instruction by utilizing technology.

With the use of technology, pupils can access a multitude of instructional resources outside of traditional classroom settings. With the abundance of resources offered through educational digital platforms, and online libraries, students from a variety of backgrounds can access current knowledge and educational resources. Customized learning experiences that are suited to each student's requirements and learning preferences are another benefit of technology. Multimedia materials, interactive instructional games, and adaptive learning platforms may accommodate a range of learning styles, giving every student the chance to study at their speed and in ways that interest them.

Students with disabilities can be catered to with the use of technology. For example, technology can be used to communicate with someone who is blind. They can speak commands into technology and the spoken language be converted to written language. Furthermore, Technology makes remote learning possible, removing geographical restrictions and allowing students to access education from any location with an internet connection. With the use of technology, students and teachers can work together remotely. Students can participate in group projects, conversations, and knowledge-sharing activities regardless of their background or geographical location thanks to virtual meeting tools, and collaboration platforms such as Google.

Importance:

Language arts plays a crucial role in education by equipping students with the essential tools for effective communication in all areas of life.

Learning Objectives of Language Arts:

The language arts curriculum aims to develop student's ability in the following areas:

  • Understanding grammar and mechanics: Proper use of sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling.

  • Creative expression: Using language for storytelling, poetry, and other forms of artistic expression.

Seven Key Ways that Technology can Benefit Language arts Instruction and Learning:

  1. Increased engagement and motivation. Educational resources such as interactive whiteboards, online reading tools, and multimedia resources can make language arts lessons more engaging and motivating for students.
  2. Personalized and adaptive learning. Adaptive learning platforms and apps can adjust content and learning paths based on a student's reading level, interests, and progress to provide a personalized experience.
  3. Accessibility features. Text-to-speech, speech-to-text, closed captioning, and other assistive technologies make language arts content more accessible for students with disabilities.
  4. Authentic writing experiences. Blogging, digital storytelling, multimedia writing, and online publishing tools are able to give students real-world audiences and purposes for their writing.
  5. Collaborative writing. Cloud-based word processors and collaborative writing platforms facilitate group writing projects and peer review/editing.
  6. Literacy skill-building. Educational games, videos, ebooks, and interactive websites help build phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and other literacy skills.
  7. Creativity tools. Video/audio editing, comic creation, and digital art tools expand modes for creative expression and storytelling.
