Michael Friedlander (born Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania [1] United States) is an American Producer, Publisher, Artist and Writer for Books, Films and Trading Cards.
In Publishing, Friedlander is best known for starting the publishing company FPG Inc. in 1990. Friedlander's many creations in Publishing include the art books: "The Art of Ken Kelly" with an introduction by Frank Frazetta, "John Berkey PAINTED SPACE", "The Art of Darrell Sweet", "The Art of Keith Parkinson" and "Dave Dorman's The Art of STAR WARS."
In Film, Friedlander has written the Screenplays: "GOLIATH", "Feral Planet", "THE GILLMANS", and "Moby Slick." His animated screenplay "GOLIATH" has been created as a large-scale children's book with artist Michael Ploog. His science fiction novel "FIFTY" is Friedlander's first parlay into non-animated storytelling.
Friedlander is perhaps best-known for his publishing in the Trading Csrd industry. Friedlander published nearly 100 different products in the trading card industry and is widely credited for creating such features as "factory inserted autographed cards, trading card holograms, and the original art cards." His trading card series based on the characters of Edgar Rice Burroughs and helped launch the modern era's popularity of Burroughs' Tarzan and John Carter of Mars.
