Kjell Staal Eggen was a resistance fighter in southeast Norway during World War II. Based in his hometown of Skien in Telemark county he planned and participated in a long range of sabotage actions against the German occupants. Maybe most notably, along with Kjell Batzer and a few others, he rescued four members of the Becker family, the only Jewish family known to have lived in Telemark at the time.
