Usage

[edit]

The purpose of this template is to allow a link to 1=, but not have the link clickable when the template appears on 2=. By default, the link will appear using the text in 2=, but can be overwritten by using 3=, essentially creating a piped link. (Parameter 3= is optional.) With very few exceptions, this template should only be used in navigation templates. In navigation templates, this template has two major uses:

  1. Linking to a section of a page, but then not having the link created by this template "clickable" when displayed on the page that hosts the section
  2. Assisting with cleanup of incorrect links by removing false positives that appear on "What links here" when the applicable navigation template is transcluded (such as A moving to B and B moving to C since then B links to A when B formerly referred to the topic at C.)

Note

[edit]

Before using this template, the guideline at WP:BRINT should be followed as best as possible. This template should only be used when there is a clear need to bypass the guideline at WP:BRINT, such as having a clear need for putting a section redirect in a navigation template.
