Hello. My name is Homer H. Paden
Just starting a User Page although I've had a login account for several years and have made multiple contributions. Most of these have been editing of articles, which comes from a lot of years of doing Army Staff and technical writing.
Not creative, but I'll work on it.
My moniker comes from my military service. As a young 2nd Lieutenant my first assignment was with a Pershing Missile Battalion in Germany. I first served as the Battalion's Ammunition Officer and as the Security Platoon Leader in the Service Battery. My Hand Receipt was for the Battalion's Basic Load of ammunition that included all the missiles and all the Nuclear Warheads, plus conventional small arms ammunition. While missile components, i.e., stages, were in the physical possession of the Firing Batteries, the Warheads were either in a Special Weapons Storage Area (SWSA) or on the end of a missile ready to launch against Soviet targets in East Germany or Czechoslovakia. My principle responsibility was to convoy the Nuclear Warheads between the SWSA and a Firing Platoon in the field and return warheads to the SWSA. The Firing Batteries were on a monthly rotation sequence and this resulted in at least two convoys, through the towns and villages of Germany, every month. What all this boils down to is that my radio call sign for the year I served in this position was Swift Theme 99. Thus ST9er9er or ST9r9r.
