Eugene MacCown (27 July 1898 - aft 1964) was an American born painter who worked in Paris during the 1920s and afterwards, in New York City.
Biography
[edit]Eugene MacCown was born 'William Eugene McCown' in Eldorado Springs, Missouri, the only son of William H. McCown (1870–1961) and Inez Boyer (1877–1909). Eugene and his sister, Lorraine, spent their early childhood in Deepwater, Missouri. After their mother died, the children were sent to live with Inez's family in Kansas City, Missouri. His father remained in Deepwater.
Eugene attended University of Missouri (Sigma Chi) from 1917 to 1919. He was president of the Glee and Mandolin club.
