Article Critique
[edit]As I was playing my Video Games during the weekend and when I got home so, I visited the Video Games page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: that on some headings that they were recently updated, that the structure of the whole article were well developed giving many information as much as possible, and that the grammars in my point of view were great.
Up-To-Date
[edit]Going onto the talk page, I saw that most of the areas has not been updated since the summer of last year while other headings were just recently updated. I also noticed that one person recently added what they thought about was being said, and that they added onto the talk page, while another person who also put there comments on a few things about it being detailed but that was about two years ago. The history for the article has many changes and adding onto it, some were recent and others were last month to three months ago where it was updated more frequently.
Structure
[edit]Throughout the article, many of the headings had a lot of subheadings to prove facts about that particular heading to back it up. The table of contents shows the different areas, what platforms can be played, and where you can play them, the development of the games, how the games are made, and how to play the games. How game designers can make cheat codes for any game to how people can make glitches in the game. One thing that interested me the most is how a game designer made a joke and added an easter egg into the game as a hidden message. Although the Comercial aspects did not have as much information as I intended it would, but there would be a few minor adjustments should be added like how gamers are able to play in eSports. What they have to do to get into it, and how they become a professional eSports player.
Grammars
[edit]I didnt notice any grammar spells or anything that was biased to or against the video games. It gave well information as much as possible. Although it did have some points of views on behavioral effects, that it does help us and that it doesnt help us. How it helps us is that it imporoves or visual motor skills and our hand eye cordination, also it helps us not get distracted as much as possible and helps our sensitivity to our peripheral vision. They say that some games will even help us in our dexterity as well as problem solving. The negative point of view for video games would be that it should be for adults, this is because that some games involve sexual content, alcohol, and multiplayer shooting games. How if a child grows up to playing these games that they are more likely to become more aggressive due to playing games.
Summary
[edit]Overall, I did enjoy reading more about Video Games, it did give me more information on what kind of games there are through out the world. Where each continent stands in how much they make through selling video games. The different types of consoles there was as the years progress, and if playing video games is actually a sport. I also noticed that most professional gamers happen to be male dominate, although more and more females are playing games more frequently.
