Yomi is a robotic surgery device manufactured by Neocis Inc. which guides surgeons during the dental implant procedure.[1] Yomi (also known as the Neocis Guidance System) provides assistance in both the planning (pre-operative) and the surgical (intra-operative) phases of dental implantation procedures.[1] The system allows the user to plan the surgery virtually in software using a CT scan of the patient. Then the plan is used by a guidance system to provide physical, visual, and audible feedback to the surgeon during the osteotomy and implant placement.[1]
FDA Clearance
[edit]The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the system for use in December 2016.[1]
