Wales has participated in the International Pan-Celtic Song Contest of the Pan-Celtic Festival (Welsh: Gŵyl Ban-Geltaidd) several times. Its first participation was at the inaugural contest, in 1971. Wales has won the contest more than any other nation, having won sixteen times.
