Interesting users
[edit]- User:68.39.174.238 this user has 21,709 edits as of 16th February 2008! Has repeatedly declined to get an account, or even a user page. A user page has been created for him(her?) by others several dozen times and been repeatedly deleted. Has been asked to become an administrator on numerous occasions, which have all been declined. There was even a proposal at AN/I to block his IP in order to force him to get an account so they could forcibly make him an administrator. This must be the lamest idea ever on Wikipedia.
- User:Ilyanep became an administrator at the age of 11 and a bureacrat at the age of 13.
Web sites
[edit]- Time Cube allegedly the most retarded site on the internet
- Newpath4's perpetual motion machines must be in the running though. Somewhere in there he says "it's not rocket science". How true - its not any kind of science.
Interesting discussions
[edit]There are probably more like this but I have forgotten where I put them.
- User:Spinningspark/Black hole anomaly
- Discussion at Wikiproject Electronics more than a year between question and reply!
Hoaxes

- And if the hoax survives NPP and gets copyedited, whistleblowers are treated as vandals.

Funnies
[edit]More quotes
[edit]- Darwin quotes Genesis in support of his arguments "It may be objected that the principle of selection has . . . been more attended to of late years . . . From passages in Genesis, it is clear that the colour of domestic animals was at that early period attended to." p.563 Everyman edition ISBN 1-4000-4127-9. Could that go into an article?
- "Who would believe in this age that such atrocities could be committed in a Christian civilized country." Darwin, Voyage of the Beagle.
- "It is essential for the safety of the Feeler that the Felt should stand perfectly still." Edwin Abbot, Flatland, p.16.

Great talk page put-downs
[edit]This sort of thing is pushing the boundaries of etiquette, but still very amusing.
- Don't ask rhetorical questions unless you are quite sure that it really is unanswerable.
- And here's one from me; you should be quite sure that no one can read the sources (or better, read them yourself) before claiming they might not support the article.
- Data is not the plural of anectode User:Protonk
My greatest ever edit summaries (at least, those I could remember when I decided to write this section)

- Template talk:Did you know Did you know . . . that some hooks have words missing?
