Fraudulence is a band based out of Othello, Washington. They are most notable because they pioneer a genre of music that combines Grunge, Punk Rock, Noise Rock, and many other very small influences. This gives them a very unique sound that nobody has yet been able to duplicate. Many have compared their sound to legendary bands such as Nirvana (band), Sonic Youth, and Blink 182. As their style varies from song to song, it is nearly impossible to pin it to one word. some have called it "alterpunge". some prefer to call it music.
Formed in August 2011, Fraudulence started without a bassist. That is, until December of 2011 when founding members Chris Parker and Spencer Butcher found a third member in long time friend and fellow musician, Ryan Whitney. The band continued to practice and record its first EP, 1,651 Really Indecisive Thoughts, which was released independently and passed among friends by the band. Throughout Spring and Summer of 2012, the band wrote and practiced new material that would eventually surface on Nihilistic, their debut album released on Semi-International Records.
1,651 Really Indecisive Thoughts
[edit]The bands EP consisted of 5 original tracks, and a cover of the nirvana song Polly. through the many versions of this release, the sound quality increased, and the boonus tracks shifted and changed. Although 3 seperate versions were produced, it is estimated by the band that less than 100 copies were ever sold. Sales may have been lacking, but most listeners came back with praise and good reviews of the content. the original tracks were:
I Know I'm Fucked
Really Indecisive Thoughts - A Long Interesting Night (RITALIN)
That WWWW
Unaplogetic
How to Live Forever
all of these songs were reproduced in higher quality on the bands debut album, Nihilistic.
Nihilistic
[edit]Nihilistic is an 18 track album the band released digitally through the popular music sharing website bandcamp in October 2012. Hard copies and all other forms of release followed in early November 2012.
