The WikiProject Rugby league insists that all rugby league articles under it's scope maintain and follow the following Manual of Style (rugby league). It has been set down by various discussions in the project talk page and relevent discussions, as well as complying with other relating WikiProjects and Wikipedia.

Infobox

Biographies

1. All rugby league players who played rugby league as their first professional sport should have the infobox {{Infobox rugby league biography}} except in cases where their rugby league career is obviously not the most notable part of their biography.
2. Any other sports should be compatible with {{Infobox rugby league biography}}.
3. Flags, colours, icons and any other images that are not of the actual player are prohibited.
4. For biographies who are currently active as players, coaches or referees should have some indication to what date the

Naming conventions

In terms

1. The term rugby league should never be capitalised except for the beginning of a sentence. (evidence)

In naming of articles

1. For disambiguation pages, (rugby league) should be added to the end of the original choice of article name. If a biography and (rugby league) is in use, then (rugby league born XXXX) should be added. In the extreme case of that unavailable, or year of birth is unavailable, then (rugby league TEAM player). Where TEAM and XXXX are variables.
2. For season articles, they should be titled COMPETITION/TEAM season XXXX where COMPETITION/TEAM and XXXX are variables.

All articles

1. All articles within the scope of rugby league, should have it's talk page be tagged with the {{WikiProject Rugby league}} template banner.
2. Each article's template banner should be appropriately assessed for quality and importance levels in accordance with the assessment department.
3. Any rugby league articles which is disambigutive to any other article should add "(rugby league)" to the end of the article name.
4. The above rule should be waived for players who played both rugby league and rugby union who should have "(rugby footballer)" added to the end of the article name.
5. For players ho have the same name and can't be distiguished by the use of (rugby league), then the use of a club is necessary such as (Eastern Suburbs rugby league) and (Balmain Tigers rugby league)

Biographies

Notability

1. Any rugby league player who has played more than fifty games of first grade rugby league should be eligible for an article, no matter it's class.
2. Any rugby league player who has played first grade rugby league consistently in either the 2024, 2023 or 2022 season's should be should be eligible for an article on the condition that is not a stub.
3. First grade can be defined as the top competition or equivilant for their respective country over any period of time.
4. Any rugby league coach who have coached an first grade team for more than 3 years should be eligible for an article on the condition that is not a stub.
5. Any current first grade rugby league coach eligible for an article on the condition that is not a stub.

Manual of Style for rugby league biographies

1. The Manual of Style for biographies should follow Wikipedia's policy on biographies.
2. Biographies of living persons must follow Wikipedia's policy on living persons.
3. All rugby league biographies should have the template {{Infobox rugby league biography}} at the start of their page, and comply with the following MOS for the infobox, see below.
4. The above rule can be waived in another template which displays the same information is in use.
5. Biographies of rugby league biographies should follow either one of the following:
   1. A season by season summary or era by era summary, with all rugby league integrated, under headings.
   2. A summary of each club and representative team under headings.
   3. A summary of the person, and their history (for non-players mainly)

Teams/Clubs

Notability

1. Any current first grade club (not team) is eligible to have an article.
2. Any former first grade club (not team) is eligible to have an article.
3. Any second grade club or first grade team is eligible to have an article on the condition that it is not a stub and is notable in the country of which it is based.
4. Any country which has an national team is eligible for that national team to have an article.

Manual of Style for Clubs/Teams

1. Teams/Clubs should follow the Manual of Style laid out in the Clubs and Team Manual of Style.
2. National teams follo the Manual of Style laid out in the National team Manual of Style.

Season articles

Competition season articles

1. Season articles should only be for notable competitions in their region/state/country, though they do not have to be first grade, anything third grade and under are strongly discouraged.
2. These articles are allowed on the condition that they are not stubs.
3. Specific season pages should be named "(Competition) season (year)".
4. The grand final line up's (if applicable) should put in the format as shown on this page.
5. The page should follow in this order, though this is not necessary, as some may not be applicable.
   1. Season history/summary
   2. Ladder
   3. Finals series and grand final

Club season articles

1. Season articles for clubs should only be in practice for clubs which are first grade clubs.
2. These articles are allowed on the condition that they are not stubs.
