[edit]Correspondances is an artist's book or, in French, a livre d'artiste, written and illustrated by Pierre Bonnard. It was published in 1944 by Editions de la Revue Verve. Measuring 21.5cm by 30.5com, it consists of 87 numbered loose-leaf pages of text and drawings which are reproduced lithographically on 25 loose folios. The pages are assembled within a cardboard chemise or loose cover. The text, in cursive writing by different hands, is reproduced directly on to Arches wove paper; the drawings originally in pencil or pen and ink, are reproduced on different sizes of white paper which are pasted on to the the cream-textured Arches paper and give the impression of a family picture album.[1]
