The University of Manchester Careers Service is division of The University of Manchester, and provides careers based advice and assistance to students and graduates of the University. The Careers Service was formerly known as the Victoria University of Manchester and UMIST Careers Service up until the merger of the two organisations in 2004, when it became known as The University of Manchester Careers Service.
The Careers Service operates out of Crawford House, on Booth Street East in Manchester, England. It is opposite the Manchester Aquatics Centre, which was purpose built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
The University of Manchester Careers Service has won a number of awards, with employers rating it as the best in the UK for five consecutive years through the Association of Graduate Recruiters/Barkers Media audit 2002-2007[1].
According to HEFCE, 94% of graduates are either in employment or further study six months after graduating from the University of Manchester[2]
