Diocese of Peshawar
[edit]The Diocese of Peshawar was formed in the 1980, and is a part of the Church of Pakistan. It consists of 6 sectors they are, Mission and Ministry, Education, Development, Property, Health, and Finance. The Mission Statement of The Diocese of Peshawar is, “To spread the knowledge of the gospel, to provide pastoral care and also to be an instrument of service to the people of God.”
The Diocese of Peshawar is Govern by The Diocesan Council, Headed by The Bishop. He is in charge of the Churches in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Tribal Areas, belonging to the Church of Pakistan.
The Diocese of Peshawar had three previous Bishops, they were:
The Rt. Revd. Khair Ud Din (July 1982 to August 1980)
The Rt. Revd. S.L. Alexander (September 1990 to February 1994)
The Rt. Revd. Munawar K. Rumalshah (March 1994 to November 2009)
The Current presiding Bishop is The Rt. Revd. Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters, who is also the Moderator/President Bishop, of the Church Pakistan. He is the First Moderator/President Bishop from the Diocese of Peshawar since the creation of the Church of Pakistan.
