Writing

[edit]

Little’s writing in the fantasy genre has been described as “a mix between Brandon Sanderson and Rick Riordan,” merging complex ideas and vast worlds with elements of adventure often found in young adult literature.[1] His writing in the sci-fi genre has been characterized as “dystopian science fiction” featuring threatening alien lifeforms and human social environments steeped in high levels of tension and mistrust.[2] Little has described himself as a “discovery writer” who drafts his stories with “end goals and major waypoints in mind,” formulating the majority of his material as he writes.[3] He tends to create his starting frameworks by working to combine a set of interesting yet seemingly-irreconcilable ideas into a single unified concept.[4] Little has stated that he is drawn to literature and writing by the “sense of awe and wonder” that comes from its portrayal of new possibilities.[5]
