Sohanak is an ancient village north east of Tehran where my both grandparents come from.

The old language of Sohanak was different to Persian language. Local people ( including my family) call that language "Sohnaki". In fa.wikipedia the old language of Sohanak and Shemiranat area is called Tat language (a southwestern Iranian language). Tati has been replaced by Persian language some decades ago in Shemirant. Nowadys, very few old inhabitants of Shemiranat can speek/remember Tati).

After Saddam's war, Sohanak was considered to had a great number of voluntary fighters and martyrs in the war (in comparision with its total population).

I have vivid memories of my childrenhood vacations in Sohanak, and best of them are:

• Spring natural waters (the best natural water I have ever drunk).

• Gentle mountain breeze in early mornings

• The mother of my grand-morther smiling, offering cherries of her garden, and speaking in Tat language to me while I could not undersatand a word! and my mother translation: Grandma is saying "What a nice boy I have!"
