The Skin Books trilogy follows Leora Flint who lives in a dystopian society where every action is tattoed onto your skin.
Synopsis
[edit]Ink
[edit]Leora Flint lives in a society where every significant moment is tattoed onto your skin forever and then preserved in a skin book once you die. When Leora's father dies, she is determined to ensure that his skin book gets kept and remembered forever as he led a good life. But then she discovers that his ink has been tampered with and she begins to question whether her father was a good man at all. Whilst struggling with her questions about her father, Leora sees the part of society where people are referred to as blanks. She discovers the rebels who refuse to get inked and this leads her down a trail of questioning everything she has been taught by society.
Spark
[edit]After learning something shocking about her past, Leora is reeling and struggling with her past. The government wants to use her to infiltrate Featherstone, the home to the Blanks so that they can get rid of them once and for all. But Leora just wants to learn more about herself and who she is. Where will she find peace, in the community she has grown up in or in this new unknown society?
Scar
[edit]Leora has had to learn quickly that nothing is quite as it seems on the surface and that every story has two sides. But she's fed up of just sitting and learning lessons the hard way. Leora is determined to fight back and tell her own story from start, middle to end. But what will the end be? Which side of the war will she fall on? Is it a war that she even wants to fight or will she give up?
