The 2022 Ukrainian Cup Final (known as the 2022 Ukrainian Cup Final presented by Sports Interactive for sponsorship reasons) was a fictional football match that was played on June 5th, 2022 in Kyiv between FC Lviv and Inhulets Petrove to determine the winner of the 2021-22 Ukrainian Cup. The match was the 31st Ukrainian Cup final since the fall of the Soviet Union. The match also marked the first time a club not in the Ukrainian Premier League won the tournament, as FC Lviv were in the First League.
Due to Lviv's victory, they qualified for the Europa League the following season. If Inhulets were to have won the tournament, they would have taken the Europa League spot, as they had finished 11th in the Premier League. Lviv's victory was the first in club history.

Background
[edit]Lviv, as previously mentioned, were playing in their first Ukrainian Cup final, but Inhulets were in the same boat. Both sides hadn't made a major final in their history. Inhulets came into the match as favorites, having taken down the two Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv en route to the final. The most difficult side Lviv had to face was Zorya, who sat third in the table at the time of their Round of 16 tie.
Lviv players, however, led the charts. Forwards Vladyslav Klochan and Oleksandr Kozak had scored six and four goals respectively, sitting one-two in the goalscoring hierarchy. Igor Zinchenko was joint-top of the assists chart with Skala Stryi's Ruslan Degtyarev. Klochan also shared top spot for most man-of-the-match awards with Oleksandr Noyok of Desna.
The bookies had Inhulets as favorites, however, with 6-4 odds on a Petrove victory, 2-1 for a draw, and 13-8 for a Lviv victory.
Outcome
[edit]The match kicked off at 16:00 (4:00 PM) local time, with Inhulets on the ball. Lviv controlled early on, breaking the deadlock in the 35th minute. Ihor Soldat broke down the right side, lofting a ball towards Vladyslav Klochan, who cushioned a header past the Inhulets keeper from the edge of the six-yard box. Oleksandr Kozak doubled Lviv's lead in the 77th minute, firing into the top corner off Maksym Tretyakov's corner kick. Kozak rounded out the scoring eight minutes later, slotting his shot into the net from the penalty spot.
