What I have found, and hope to remedy, is that Wikipedia itself has become an echo chamber for "group think" and for trolls. It is very discouraging to find that original content, complete with valid citations is called "vandalism" when it doesn't support the a popular or mainstream point of view. Moderators are quick to squelch any discussion with terms like "vandalism".
Wikipedia's founder solicits donations because he claims the system to be independent, unbiased and less corruptible than the media that is seeks to supplement. If that is the case, we should police some of these controversial threads and topics, perform necessary reading and research, and help present clear and unbiased articles. This is very important, and I hope to help in this area as a contributor. Where people disagree with my point of view or edits, I expect them to specify what in the edits they take exception to. Simply stating that an edit is "vandalism" without any further discussion or explanation is lazy, uneducated and troll-like behaviour in my view.
