K. Karunanithi hails from a business and politician family running Cargo and Passenger Transportation. He graduated from SIT, Karnataka specialising in computer Science Engineering and Master of Business Administration from Alagappa University.

He is the founder and chairman of SKP Engineering College, SKP Institute of Technology, SKP Vanitha International School, SKP Vanitha Matriculation school and has an experience of 22 years in successful running of Engineering Colleges that are known for imparting quality technical education in Tiruvannamalai, approved by AICTE, affiliated to Anna University, Accredited by NBA-AICTE and certified ISO 9001-2008 by DNV Netherland.

Being an ardent lover of nature, he has well designed the institutions as green campus that soothes the eyes of the students, staff and all the visitors and onlookers. The high embellished architectural buildings with greenery stand as projectors of his eloquence in artistic decoration. Passionate towards delivering world class technical education on highest standards and quality, he has augmented the departments, classrooms and labs with the latest modern technology, ensuring that the best facility in all domains made available to the student and staff community so as to create an atmosphere of learning made easy. Thus the quality of teaching, infrastructure and facilities has drawn the students from all parts of India including Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

His unquenchable thirst and love for Tamil literature has placed him a special member in Tamil Nadu Revolutionary Writer’s Association. He is a member of SAHITHYA ACADEMY too and has organized International Conferences inviting leading personalities in Tamil Literature. He wrote the Tamil book in the name of “Governarin Helicaptor”. He has been awarded two consecutive years “BEST EDUPRENUERUS AWARD-Education” by Times of India.

In his political career he has been appointed as the joint secretary of the Tamilnadu D.M.K Engineer’s wing. He and his engineer’s wing team developed and launched successfully “SEYAL VEERAR” Web application for the D.M.K party election Camping. His interest does not end with literature rather extends to sports and charitable activities too.
