I own an 01' IS300, my favorite games at the moment are CSGO and Valorant and my favorite esports player is Nicolai "Device" Reedtz. Also, I listen to SHWB and enjoy taking car photos and portraits like SESH photographer BGI.

To be honest, past the usage for the class, I probably won't touch this page too much, if any. FYI- My editing box and overall wikipedia page looks different than when you were showing us in class so I can't find the correct cite and reference.

Evaluation Article

Intro Paragraph

My topic revolves around my esport favorite, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz. Firstly, he's a Dane and I am too! I found Astralis in their height during 2017 and onward and he was their star player and they were the best team. Going to the dev1ce article, I noticed the lack of information posted compared to liquidpedia and HLTV and some missing citations. He's a big name in the esport world, virtually everyone in the scene knows who he is. Secondly, he has a mass amount of winnings which could be talked about. Lastly, his signing to NIP was quite literally considered the biggest signing ever.

Body Paragraphs

To begin with, there are missing citations such as how he was a prodigial Badminton player and then got injured leading to his esport career. That is true, however there is no citation even though there are interviews, videos, and articles that include that from him. Also, there could be an inclusion of how he is taking a break for his mental health due to being cheated upon by his girlfriend of 4 years, who is also a fairly big person just in the CSGO scene. With these few missing citations and even some info, that I think could be included, at the very least there could be a rating page or something like that of his career per team. HLTV may provide that info.

Next, to prove that he is somebody more than just an esport gamer and an example of what you could be, is in his earnings. He's one of the highest earning players in his pro-tenure, at the end of 2019 racking up almost $2 million through tournament winnings alone! I bring this up because money makes the world go round, and with esports becoming so huge, we're seeing a lot of parents restrict or advise against gaming or being on games too much while others are embracing that video games are huge nowadays. Kids and parents alike can be inspired by this and making an earnings page on wikipedia, in my opinion, will get more clicks and reads than people seeing liquidpedia and thinking otherwise since it's an unknown site.

Lastly, there's little to no info on his Astralis to NIP deal. This cost NIP $1 million, which is the largest monetary deal ever in CSGO. Then, dev1ce, the most known Danish CSGO player ever leaves the best Danish team ever, which was also the best CSGO team ever, left for a Swedish team with only young players which was NIP. This was huge, a lot of people were questioning it, saddened, and to this day Astralis comments among all their socials have comments calling to get dev1ce back. On the wikipedia page it just says "On 23 April 2021 he joined Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP)." There is no capture of the emotion behind the deal nor monetary.

To end this, I find the article for him kind of lacking. There's no real substance for the most highly decorated CSGO player ever and one of the most famous esport competitors to date. Going to s1mples wikipedia, I can say the same thing, however he at least has notable achievements. On the record, s1mple is the best CSGO player ever and both him and dev1ce are debated between the huge fanbase as though they're Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. With time and esports, maybe this page is updated and in general for large figures in esports. However, I can see why it maybe might not be due to so many esport journalistic sites rising where you can already get the deep information!
