Growing up with parents form Ethiopia, Inejra has always been a big part of my life. When I was younger and couldn't make my own food I would eat injera for basically every meal besides breakfast cause my mom didn't make anything else, so it is obvious why I would want to research and see what Wikipedia has to say about it. I visited the “Injera” article on wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on, the use of great citations, the structure/completeness of the article, and the bias I noticed.
Citations: The article had a good number of sources and the quality of the sources were great. As someone who has been surrounded by injera their whole life and grew up eating it, I learned some new information and was able to do more research on it through the links provided on the page. Specifically on the origins of the grain teff, the article provided a wiki link to “Eragrostis tef” which I didn't know was a thing at all.
Structure/Completeness The article was very detailed and had a lot of information that was kind of random but related to injera in a positive way and was still interesting to know about. Like when the article talked about the different countries that have their own variations of injera and how injera became popularized in the United states. I wouldn't have expected those things to be talked about, especially the popularization of it in the United states but it makes sense because most people reading are from the US and would relate.
Bias: Overall the article was very good but I think I sensed a little bit of bias when it was talking about the different variations of injera made in other countries and how different color of Injera can mean higher or lower class and if the injera isn't made with authentic teff then the symbolic value has been changed.
Overall I would rate this page a 7.5 out of 10. It was very detailed for the size of the article but a lot more could have been talked about and the bias I think I sensed brought it down but it also might not be biased and just the truth because that's the culture. Also there were one or two links that were dead but that didn't really take away from the page.
About Me
[edit]I am a college student who lives in the Pacific Northwest currently working on a degree in business administration. In my free time I work a part time retail job and for fun like to hang out with friends and family, listen to music, and play basketball. Basketball is one of my favorite hobbies because it can be played with any amount of people and there are so many different variations of the game you can play, and the fact that it is a heart healthy fun activity. My Wikipedia interests
[edit]My interest in wikipedia is mainly related to the class but wikipedia has always been apart of my life even though most of my teachers throughout school told me to not believe what it said as it wasn't a reliable source. I would always scroll through wikipedia searching for answers to random questions I had or to defend myself in arguments with my friends so I think even after this class wikipedia will still be apart of my life. One of the only things specifically check wikipedia for is information on past wars because there aren't that many resources in the top search results.
