Plot

[edit]

{{spoiler}} The movie begins as bandit killer Lina Inverse has a dream about a blue-haired boy, asking her if her name is Lina Inverse and before he first introduces himself, Lina wakes up on a path and walks along it. While walking down the road, however, she accidentally steps on a thief's foot. Two other thieves rush toward him and call Lina. When they confront her, she blasts them away with her spell, Explosion Array, which sends the thieves splashing into a lake.

While at an open restaurant, she is confronted once again by the thieves. They have an ally with them. When the ally appears, she laughs and Naga the Serpent introduces herself and after a talk with Lina, she prepares for an attack, but Lina quickly burns her with a simple Fireball. Once Naga realizes that she is working for the thieves, she quickly joins Lina and ties them up. In the process, they take two tickets.

Cultural References

[edit]

There are several anime and manga references in the English dubbed version.

  • When Naga runs through the hallway to enter the springs, she says "Last one in is a rotten Dragon Ball", a reference to Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball series.
  • When Naga is with the slime-halves, Naga makes references to Dragon Half and the slime-halves resemble those of Square Enix's Dragon Quest series, which Toriyama also designed the characters.
