A situation might arise in which one editor competently asserts "X is true because [evidence]" and another editor incompetently asserts "nu-uh, X is false because [I say so]".
In such a situation it might be considered desirable for the incompetent editor to go away and spend five minutes googling, and thereby discover if there is any evidence whatsoever for his/her assertion, rather than the competent editor wasting his/her presumptively more valuable time.
