Nishaanth is an Indian sports enthusiasts and upcoming talent in Poker. He has won many competitions in poker and bagged lakhs and lakhs with the names soona paana and shanni.[1] He has represented India to participate in World Poker championship conducted at Las Vegas which was telecasted in ESPN sports channel in 2018.[2]

Early life and education

Nishaanth has completed his bachelor of technology and master's in computer science from Indian Institute of Technology in 2013. He received the silver medalist for the highest CGPA from the institute.[3]. He is a national level chess player and represented India in the juniors category. He plays cricket, badminton, table tennis and squash. He has a special interest in sports. He is married to Neeharika who also graduated with a dual degree from IIT Madras.His sister Sindhuja Shanmughasundaram also graduated with Bachelors of Technology from IIT Madras.

Career

Nishaanth started his professional career at Goldman sachs after completing his degree and received a promotion in 2016 after completing various global stints in London. He joined Ola and shifted from a pure computer engineering profile to a data analytics profile. After which, he is currently working at Microsoft as a Data scientist -2 .[4]

Awards and Honours

Nishaanth scored an AIR of 327 in the prestigious JEE exam in 2008. He is a district-level player in cricket and a state-level swimmer. He is a rated chess player with a fide rating of 2100 in chess. He has emerged as topper in his school with the centum in 3 subjects at high school and is mentioned in roll of honors.
