Adopting me

Am I doing this right? I want to contribute but obviously need to learn the ropes- you said you were interested in adopting me, sorry I didnt see it sooner. Oodleday (talk) 20:55, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

I am too busy at the moment-sorry! You may be better asking someone to help you who is on the current adoptors list. Sorry again!sillybillypiggy 17:02, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

A fresh logo is waiting for you at the logo shop. Yum! Fresh logo! BTW, do you still want the sig, as I see that you've now got a green one (shamelessly stolen from Nerdyscience dude lol)? If you do, you mught be better off asking someone else like Wyatt915. Thanks, Rock drum Ba-dumCrash (Review me) 18:48, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

PS, As before, if you want any changes made to the logo, I can do that. Rock drum Ba-dumCrash (Review me)

"New messages" banner

Please remove the practical joke banner. Simulating the MediaWiki interface is strongly discouraged. mono 04:19, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Additionally, I see many elements in your userpage (like your sig) that you've copied from other editors. See Copying within Wikipedia for info on properly attributing this content. mono 04:25, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I hate to be a party pooper Mono but you're not so good when it comes to copying other stuff too. For instance the navigation banner and your userpage. Rock drum Ba-dumCrash (Review me) 12:40, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Scuse me, but I've fixed that. mono 20:02, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Dahl Tag

The Dahl Tag on my user talk page looks strange now - but it did look OK previously.

I thing this edit changed something: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/Roald_Dahl_task_force/invite&action=historysubmit&diff=373947935&oldid=373099964

Geocaching WikiProject Newsletter - September 2010

WikiProject Geocaching Newsletter
Issue 2 - September 2010
Project news
  • The project has been going for many months now, and it's time to get it going again. Come on; encourage people to join, start editing articles again, please do what you can.
  • The project is still being built up, and the infrastructure is still being worked on. But despite this, we are now ready to work on Geocaching-related and other, related articles .

Some project tips

  • Use the {{WP GEOCACHING INVITE}} template to invite users. It has the chain letter effect and is very powerful for recruiting members. Pass it on.
  • A few moments checking other editors contributions is always appreciated.
  • Don't be shy on using the talk pages. It's where a lot of stuff gets decided. A good point being made can change the content of an encyclopedia depended on by many people.

From the Editor

Welcome to the second issue of The Geocaching WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this newsletter will help members to find new things to do within the project that they may wish to participate in.

Don't be afraid to suggest ideas through the main newsletter page, or even contribute yourself. It's people's ideas and assistance that make things like this possible. Thanks for being a member of the project and please make sure it continues by being active.

This issue's contributors:

Goals of the Month (Prioritized)

The Project hasn't been really active of late, but to get it back, running again, please feel free to do one of the following:

  1. Inviting Users. Our most important task to complete right now is inviting users. Use this template.
  2. Create Templates. Create any templates you may find useful such as a userbox, etc.
  3. Discuss! PLEASE... discuss things about this project. Socializing is good!
  4. And, as always, Create Articles as listed at the Requested articles page!

Want to help on the next newsletter? Don't want to receive these in future? Other questions or complaints? - It's all here

PediaPress renderer for Wikipedia Books

I thought you might be interested in this. Basically, this would give you access to the PediaPress renderer used to print books and should allow you to review book as they would be printed (minus covers). If you find errors and problems, please report them at Help:Books/Feedback.

You either received this message because

  • You edited several books
  • You are part of WikiProject Wikipedia-Books. (If you aren't, please free free to join in. We'll take any help we can.)

Adopt-a-user reminder

Hello, I have completed a general cleanup of the adopter information page for the adopt-a-user project, located here. During my cleanup, I have removed several inactive and retired users. In order to provide interested adoptees with an easy location to find adopters, it is essential that the page be up-to-date with the latest information possible. Thus:

  • If you are no longer interested in being an adopter, please remove yourself from the list.
  • If you are still interested, please check the list to see if any information needs to be updated or added - especially your availability. Thank you.
  • You are receiving this message because you are listed as an adopter here.

Unreferenced BLPs

There's only a few Unreferenced BLPs (Biographies of living people) left. Why not head over to the page and help by adding sources to the articles? It's an important job, that requires assistance.

From the Editor

Hello and welcome to this, the second edition of the newsletter. This month, I need to ask a favour of you. You may have seen that this month I had to write the newsletter by my self. I really need your help with writing and giving suggestions. If you have a suggestion for a future edition, please list it at the tips desk. You may also notice the links underneath this piece. Please use them to share this newsletter on your favourite social networks. Until next time, happy editing!

Ways to promote the project
If you're interested in promoting the project, why not visit the Outreach department for more ideas?

There are many ways to promote the project. One of them is to add the project's ad to your userpage. To do this, simply add the code {{Template:Wikipedia ads|ad=212}} to your talk or user page. Another thing you can do is to invite other users to join the project. To find prospective members search the history pages of Children's literature-related articles and invite people who seem to be deoing good things for these articles. The code for the invitation template is {{subst:Wikipedia:WikiProject Children's literature/Invite}}.

Hi, Sillybillypiggy. In a July/August 2010 policy discussion (at Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not/Archive 34#Does WP:NOTMYSPACE apply to secret pages?), community consensus was that the policy Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not prohibits secret pages. Would you tag for deletion the pages User:Sillybillypiggy/secretpage, User:Sillybillypiggy/Userboxes/silllybillypiggy's secret page, and User:Sillybillypiggy/secretpage/award1 with {{db-userreq}}? Thank you, Cunard (talk) 01:16, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
