WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
[edit]Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, aTag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Your CSD nomination of Ikramov Nodir
[edit]Hi Shovon. Just wanted to comment that I deleted this article that you marked for speedy deletion, but I did so under a different criterion from the one you selected. I deleted the article under CSD G12 as it was a copyright violation. However, as the article appears to have been about a piece of software, the criterion which you selected (CSD A7) was not appropriate. Please remember that A7 only applies to a very narrow range of articles (those about individuals, animals, organizations, web content and events), and not to any other articles (such as those about software). Thanks - Kingpin13(talk) 13:54, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up! However, I saw that Ikramov Nodir is the developer of that particular software, but the article spoke only about the software. Shovon (talk) 07:06, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I request you to hold on, as talks at high level are on the way on regarding the use of native names for Bengali and Assamese language, Please wait with patience, Thank you. BijoyChakrabarty ✉ —Preceding undated comment added 05:54, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

- Bangla is the actual name of the language (Reference from=Bangla Academy and Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi), also I'm a native speaker. The word "Bengali" can also be used, but the original name is to be used as "Bangla". In the same manner for the language Assamese, the name he been so due to Romanization errors in past, the correct Romanization is Oxomiya not Asamiya or Assam (for the state). The state Assam has also opted for Romanization correction of the state name to Oxom. On these bases I have opted for change on Wikipedia. Thank you. - Thank you User:Solomon7968. Now I tried to agree to the fact! But I hope that the actual names shall come in affect (as an example of Oriya language spellings have also been corrected to some extent). Also I felt the language of User:Shovon76 not polite and reverting edits in annoying manner, please look. Please be polite. Thank you. Please also look at the page issue on Durga Puja. Thank you. Whoa! BijoyChakrabarty, how do you know that I am not a native speaker of Bengali or Assamese? And, where do you get the idea that Oxom may be the correct or accepted name for the state? Btw, did you care to readmy note at the talk page of Bengali alphabet? Also, please point out theimpolite language part! Two more suggestions for you. Acquaint yourself with Wikipedia policies first. And, please understand that Wikipedia policies do not change on the basis what you opt for. Also, I shall be opening an RFC for Durga Puja tonight.Shovon (talk) 11:36, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Hello! I checked back the page Bay of Bengal and found you reverted the edit which added Bengali language to the article. It is because the Bay is named after Bengal and it is no harm to write up the name in Bengali language even. For instance please see the page Andaman Sea. Thank you. Sknahta007
[edit]Hi Shovon76. Sknahta007 recently recreated the Yuvacharya Shri Madhukar Muni article that was deleted not long ago in accordance with CSD A7. I've tagged the recreation as {{not English}}. If you know what it's about and feel it is eligible for speedy deletion, can you renominate it please?--Forward Unto Dawn 12:13, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Hello Shovon76. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Tiyasha, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Context is clear; it's an upcoming film. May well not be notable enough to survive AfD though, so that should be the next venue if you think it should be deleted. Thank you. GedUK 12:15, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi User:Ged UK, Tiyasha is not a an upcoming film and hence I had marked it for deletion. Can you please recheck?Shovon (talk) 17:08, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
Fresible Corporations
[edit]The Page Fresible Corporations should not be deleted as this a well known registered Company in Nigeria. The Company is gradually penetrating into the Nigerian Market. It is well known in Nigeria and it happens to be one of the largest conglomerate in Nigeria. Am sure the page will be made better by other users by including more information to the article.
- Well, this has been deleted multiple times earlier. Please stop recreating the article, or you may eventually be blocked. Thanks.Shovon (talk) 11:24, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Indian American
[edit]Hello Shovonji,
I noticed that you removed the table for linguistic affiliation. I think it should be there because it is highly relevant to Indian Americans. Even if there are instances where the information could apply to other ethnic groups, it applies to Indian Americans, and thus should be on the page. If you look at other tables on the Indian American page, there are several other categories that apply to other groups (such as the educational attainment, employment, population proportion, etc.) which includes information not relevant to Indian Americans. However, they are still on the page because they include information relevant to Indian Americans. If we removed this table, then we must also remove all other tables on the page that include information not relevant to Indian Americans, using the same logic. Thus, please put the table back. I think it provides very useful and relevant information. If not, where would you put it?

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Assam. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at anappropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may beblocked from editing. Darkness Shines (talk) 18:29, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
