USGS Summary Report - Claquato[1] |
Claquato, Washington is a former town and present day community directly outside and west of Chehalis, Washington.[1]
History
[edit]The community built a blockhouse in the 1850s that was home for over a year to the founders of the city of Chehalis, the Saunders family. It was constructed during fears over potential Native American attacks during the Puget Sound War.[2]
