From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I removed your speedy deletion tag from this article. Even if an article may appear to be problematic to you, please do not tag them when it's clear that the author is in the middle of developing it. It's frustrating to have someone place a speedy deletion tag up when you're not more than five minutes into your work, and it's obvious that this isn't a vandalism, attack, or copyvio page.

On a related note, there's plenty of precedent that airports and heliports, even small ones, are inherently notable (check Category:Heliports for some examples). Even if the author hadn't made it clear that he was still working on the content, I would have removed the tag for that reason. You're welcome to try an AfD, but given how many other similar articles exist, it probably won't pass. Tijuana Brass (talk) 02:51, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your contributions in this debate. I have just replied. Please reconsider. Cheers. --Edcolins (talk) 19:30, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

TPH RfA oppose

[edit]

The emerging consensus on the AfD that caused you to switch to oppose on TPH's RfA is that the article in question should be deleted. You may (or may not) wish to re-evaluate your oppose based on this interesting development. Avruchtalk 20:40, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Avruchtalk, I stand by my opinion be it ; "...Good, Bad or Ugly". But thanks for the heads-up. Shoessss |  Chat  22:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Welcome template

[edit]

Hi! What is the welcome template that you used on User talk:156.34.210.254? StephenBuxton (talk) 18:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey StephenBuxtontalk and Happy New Year. The welcome message I use is actually part of a bot program called VandalProof . If you are interested, you can I apply for privileges at the link provided. Gook luck to you and if you have any questions feel free to leave a note here. Shoessss |  Chat  19:10, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks you for the welcome message

[edit]

Dear Shoeness

Thank you for your welcome message. Very yellow. I am very much in the foothills of understanding how this thing works, but am in principal enthusiastic about the concept. And I think I may be making very slow progress in understanding just a very few of the more intricate 'whys' and (even, though this seems likely to take a little bit longer) 'hows'. I am sure the links you provided will help hasten the necessary learning tasks for me.

Sincerely

Response to your Message

[edit]

Hi. I just got a message from you saying "Please do not add unhelpful and unconstructive content to Wikipedia, as you did to NYPD Auxiliary Police. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me."

I went to the link you provided to show me what you changed but dont understand exactly what was changed. My question is what did I exactly delete that made you send me this message? All I deleted was a template that was in the wrong place. The template was put onto the picture I added to the page however it was also added to the page where it shouldnt have been.

Hey Guy/Gal. I reviewed the page in question and can see that you did not mean to cause any harm. When you removed your template, you also picked-up one of the other language templates by mistake. This caused the bot I am using to notice the removal. I have removed the tag from your discussion page and replaced it with this response. If you have any other questions, just drop me a line. ShoesssS Talk

Response to your Message

[edit]

Hi. I would like to say thank you for removing the tag from my discussion page. I didnt mean to remove the language templates as I was just trying to remove the picture template. I apologize if my mistake caused any kind of problems for you or any other Wikipedia user and will be more careful in the future when working on Wikipedia.

No problem, and once again Welcome to Wikipedia. ShoesssS Talk

From his talk page I gather you deleted some articles he created. I wanted to draw your attention to this post he left on his user page. Pairadox (talk) 12:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry I am late in responding, but yes I did get his message. Sorry to say the article was deleted before I could do anything. It’s a shame, it more of a procedural problem with copyright rather than an actual problem. Tried to direct him on what to do but it went down to fast:-(. How do you feel about mops?

[edit]

Hey, I see you around quite a lot at WP:SCV, and you do some good work there. I've also taken a look at some of your recent contributions and your editor review, and feel that you would be a good addition to our administrative team. How would you feel about becoming an admin? :) Drop me a line whenever you like. GlassCobra 15:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

LOL they usually involve dirty water, but first hello and Happy New Year GlassCobra. Let me begin by saying; “… thank you” very much for the compliment. However, I would respectfully say no to your nomination of me as an administrator for several reasons. First, I have been involved with several Rfa’s and to be honest, I would not put myself through what those guys/gals have put-up with regarding comments and fault finding. The second reason is even more selfish, I actually enjoy editing here at Wikipedia and just editing. I enjoy being the autonomist editor, in that I actually have, in a lot of cases, more freedom than you, the overworked administrators. In fact, I do not need the added burden and reasonability of having those few extra buttons without making anymore money :-). But I do appreciate you asking. Once again Thank You and Happy Editing. Shoessss |  Chat  21:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I certainly understand your logic. :) Well please do let me know if you change your mind, okay? Thanks very much and happy editing to you! GlassCobra 22:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Up Loading Pictures

[edit]

{{Helpme}} – Up loading Pictures. Quick question? Is there any type of copyright violation up loading pictures from our Wikipedia Germen site to Wikipedia English site? Thanks for your help. Shoessss |  Chat  18:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

German WP has the same licensing requirements as English WP -- GFDL-compatible. In theory this means that all images on the German WP should be GFDL compatible (I don't know if German WP does fair use, but I would guess at a far lesser extent than the English one). However, you must check to make sure you properly copy over the source and licensing to the English WP image, or it will face deletion on account of missing / improper licensing info. - Revolving Bugbear 18:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
For accuracy's sake: Images may also have a Creative Commons license like cc-by-sa, which is not (yet) GDFL-compatible, and German law does not have a fair use equivalent. Arthena(talk) 21:16, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. - Revolving Bugbear 21:22, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Japanisches palais.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:08, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I added the license to the image. I also answered your question on the Help Desk Wikipedia:Help_desk#Up_loading_Pictures, but it seems you also asked it using the helpme template. Please don't ask questions in two locations in rapid succesion, or people's time will be wasted writing duplicate replies. Arthena(talk) 21:09, 16 January 2008 (UTC).
First, Thank you the quick response and help in the license issue. Second, I apologize for letting my fingers get ahead of my brain. Call it finger disconnect. When I placed the {helpme} I saw the WP:Help Desk link and just couldn’t resist. Shoessss |  Chat  21:20, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok, no problem :). Arthena(talk) 21:28, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Deletion Review for Apache papa 2.1(Part Scandal)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Apache papa 2.1(Part Scandal). Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. --Accuse La Banks (talk) 16:15, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Shoessss! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

Danke --Zeitgespenst (talk) I just started several translations on articles from our German site to the English Wikipedia site. Ich Willensdefinitiv Zwischenstation!. Shoessss |  Chat  00:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Meetup

[edit]

I got Ike's message, and seeing as it'll just be you and my girlfriend I don't think that's worth it. The meetup has been postponed for a month or so due to insufficient attendance. I need to figure out (from Evrik?) how they got that message to appear before, to avoid this happening again. --TexasDex 01:01, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

No problem! Just let me know the date and I should be there. Take care and by the way Happy New Year. Shoessss |  Chat  16:38, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to WikiProject Germany

[edit]

Welcome, Shoessss, to the WikiProject Germany! Please direct any questions about the project to its talk page. If you create new articles on Germany-related topics, please list them at our announcement page and tag their talk page with our project template {{WikiProject Germany}}. A few features that you might find helpful:

  • The project's Navigation box points to most of the pages in the project that might be of use to you.
  • Most of the important discussions related to the project take place on the project's main talk page; you may find it useful to watchlist it.
  • We've developed a number of guidelines for names, titles, and other things to standardize our articles and make interlinking easier that you may find useful.

Here are some tasks you can do. Please remove completed tasks from the list.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of the more experienced members of the project, and we'll be very happy to help you. Again, welcome, and thank you for joining this project! -- Agathoclea (talk) 21:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: the ongoing Afd: I noticed you said that regardless of whether the AfD result was "keep" or "delete", you were going to work on the article to clean it up/expand/add sources. See my comment at the AfD - I will work on the article as well and expand w/ sources. Cheers, Cirt (talk) 13:10, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer and I look forward to working with you. I’ll start working on it next week. Just have to finish up a piece for our sister site Deutsch Wikipedia. Take care. Shoessss |  Chat  13:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I've removed the copyvio paragraph from the page. If the remaining article is also copyvio, feel free to leave a new {{db-copyvio}} tag for it, based on its source. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:10, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

LOL – Not much left after your edit! No it’s fine now and thanks. Shoessss |  Chat  14:30, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Not much - but enough to not be speedy deletable. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:40, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I am in agreement with you! Nothing wrong with stubs as the article is being worked on. In fact, I should have just deleted the paragraph instead of tagging. Call it the first edit of the day, still wasn’t awake. Shoessss |  Chat  14:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey- I fixed the mistake. Check out the re-wording of the second paragraph. Jrcla2 (talk) 16:33, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Jrcla2, nice job. Shoessss |  Chat  16:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
