Starting in April 2020, as part of my paid work, I am updating Wikipedia articles with trusted, verified information from our archival collections. Our guides to these collections are licensed CC-BY. I am a steward of the archival materials held in our library, but I am not an agent of or advocate for the people represented in those collections.
My main edits tend to consist of the following activities:
Updating articles about figures whose materials are held at Smith College.
Creating or enhancing existing biographies of other notable scholars, researchers, and cultural figures, especially those from under-represented populations.
Adding authoritative references, citations, and images to improve the quality of existing articles of all types.
I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other Wikipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors do not hesitate to contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration.
