Kurmian Writing Script

Ministry of Cultures of Kurmian Democratic Caliphate (KDC) published the standardized version of every written languages in KDC. The reason is to make communication across the nation is a lot easier and still respecting every provinces autonomy of having their own official languages and official script. In total, Kurmian Languages has seven scripts that has been standardized by national government. There are:

  1. Latin
  2. Cyrillic
  3. Arabic
  4. Kurmikon
  5. Kurmslat
  6. Hanacoroko
  7. Sinokurmian

There are used for every languages in Kurmian, including Austronesian from Malayo-Polynesian branch, Indo-European from Uralic, Slavic, and Germanic branch, Turkic languages, and Australian Aboriginal languages.

History

In 1933, the First Caliph, Abdul Salim, ordered a revitalisation of writing languages in Kurmian Caliphate in order to increase reading ability and at last the education of the people. Language Preserve Biro was established on Jun 13, 1933 in order to do the expeditions and research to collect and preserve languages in Kurmian Islands. Not just collecting and preserving, LBP was also ordered to choose or make the suitable writing language for every language in Kurmian Islands. The basics of every writing languages in KK is latin alphabet with some additions.

As mention earlier, there are 28 consonants and 32 vocals (including diphthongs). These are standardized version of the cyrillic-based script. Some other addition of letters are present in many languages.

Arabic-based Script

As mention earlier, there are 28 consonants and 32 vocals (including diphthongs). These are standardized version of the arabic-based script. Some other addition of letters are present in many languages. This version of script is about as same as Jawi, a traditional arabic-based script for writing Javanese or Sundanese before the used of Latin.
