The Siriraj Health Science Education Excellence Center (SHEE) (Thai: ศูนย์ความเป็นเลิศด้านการศึกษาวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ) is a unit under the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. It was established to enhance the quality of health science education, with the aim of supporting teaching and learning for health science professionals, curriculum development, and promoting educational research. The center offers a variety of training programs and online courses for medical professionals, as well as provides consulting services on health science education, all aimed at elevating the quality of teaching and learning in the field of health sciences.
The Siriraj Health Science Education Excellence Center (SHEE) originated from the Medical Education Research and Development (MERD) project, which was approved for establishment by the Faculty Board in meeting No. 22/2012 on December 4, 2012. Associate Professor Dr. Cherdsak Iramaneerat was appointed as the project manager under the Siriraj Hospital Faculty of Medicine order No. 1440/2013, dated July 10, 2013. The project was initially overseen by Associate Professor Dr. Rungnirand Praditsuwan, the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. In its early phase, the project focused on faculty development, enhancement of teaching and learning processes, and educational research.
In 2016, the center launched the Master of Science (Health Science Education) program for health science professionals. The following year, a blended (online) program was introduced. On January 17, 2017, the "Siriraj Health Science Education Excellence Center" was officially established following the resolution of the Faculty Board in meeting No. 1/2017. Initially, the center was placed under the structure of the Education Division, with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education as its supervisor, and the Master of Science (Health Science Education) program became part of the Faculty's curriculum offerings.
