Shadow Cruiser An unknown street racer who lives in the North Island of New Zealand. The small group of misunderstood men in their mid 20's own a number of cars stored in an underground warehouse hidden from sight. The men film themselves doing crazy stunts on the streets of New Zealand, often running away from the police, and then share the videos with others. The police have very little knowledge of the Shadow Cruiser or his cars. The car he uses the most is a small hatchback, coloured flat black. The police told reporters that it was either a Mazda 323 or some kind of Toyota. Both cars holding only 1.3 litre engines, which is not enough to get away from the police. So how does the Shadow Cruiser evade the police so easily? Pure skill and road knowledge.
Following the tradition of evading the police on film, the shadow cruiser has done a selection of stunts riding a 2002 model Yamaha R1, also coloured an unfinished black colour. Currently the unknown street racer naming himself Shadow Cruiser has been flashed by 47 times by speed cameras around the country, with each having an average speed of 156kmph. The highest he was ever clocked at was in an old styled BMW, where he reached speeds of 234kmph on the Wellington motorway, over two times the speed limit of 100.
Late in 2004, the unknown group organised an illegal race down the North Island. 12 cars took part in the illegal race, with only seven of them recieving tickets from the police. Shadow Cruiser was involed driving a BMW. His competitors mostly raced European cars, with only one racing a Japanese import. While filming Shadow Cruiser was hit by a police car and his BMW went through a fence. Shadow Cruiser some how managed to escape the accident with no injuries and without been caught, the car had been completely stripped of identity. It had no licence plates, no registration, and Shadow Cruiser had gone as far to grind off the Vin Plate. Police could never track the owner of the car.
This year, Shadow Cruiser has been rumoured to have stepped it up and bought a Nissan 350Z, which he intends to completely modify and strip. A car with such potential is a sure recipe for a great video this time round.
