M.B.Shetty (Kannada: ಎಂ. ಬಿ. ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ) (1938 - 1981), better known as 'Shetty', is an Indian Hindi and Kannada film actor and a stunt specialist.
He worked as a stunt coordinator, stunt master, stunt director, fight instructor, fight composer and as an action coordinator in many of the films he worked in. He is primarily remembered for playing as a 'bad guy' or a 'henchman' or in a 'negative' character in numerous films. He was a very well known stunt director in the Hindi film industry. He has acted in about 70 films and worked as a stunt specialist in about 80 films.[Ref 1] He was admired for his daring stunts and action sequences.[Ref 2]
Early life
[edit]He was born in 1938 in the city of Mangalore, then in Madras Presidency as part of undivided British India (now in Karnataka).[Ref 1]
Personal
[edit]He has two sons, Rohit Shetty and Hriday Shetty, both are well known in the Hindi film industry and are both directors. According to Rohit Shetty, though his father's role in reel life was that of a villain, he was a jovial person in real life and was easy to get along with.[Ref 2]
Death
[edit]He died in 1981 of heart attack at the age of 72. Rohit Shetty was studying in class III when this happened.[Ref 2]
