Rebecca Smith (beauty queen) was crowned Mrs. Maryland America 2009. Rebecca won the title in June 2009. She also won the Most Photogenic award, Most Physically Fit award, Stellar Interview Award, and the Best Evening Gown award.
In August 2009, Rebecca resigned due to a family medical issue. Her husband was in the United States Marine Corps and was injured during training. The first runner up, Carrie Yorkis, was then crowned as Mrs. Maryland and competed in the Mrs. America 2009 pageant.
Rebecca has competed in beauty pageants since she was a child. She holds several titles. Her platform is positive parental involvement. She encourages parents to be involved in the lives of their children by setting a good example for them to follow, supporting their educational goals, and spending time enjoying life with their children.

History
[edit]Rebecca Smith was born and raised in Blountstown, FL.
She joined the United States Marine Corps in August 1995. She was a highly decorated Staff Sergeant when she was honorably discharged in 2006. After serving in the military, she became a government contractor, working as a Network Engineer.
Rebecca is also a business owner. She and her husband are the owners of www.childvillage.com, which is a social networking site for parents.
