Thank you for visiting my user page. My name is Jaeyoung, and I'm an international student from Seoul, Korea. I was a professional ice hockey player for total of 7 years, but after I got a back injury in the tournament, I couldn't continue playing it. These days, I love playing golf and bowling in my spare time. It's not as dynamic sport as ice hockey so it doesn't hurt my back and it's fun at the same time! Playing sports consistently can give people many advantages like aid in weight management, increase immunity and help maintain a positive attitude.

I'm interested in health these days and I think Wikipedia is one of the best places to trust information and find sources. If I ended up working on contents here, I might find some health information about foods or activities that can make better and healthier life.

Article evaluation

A rice cooker is a product many people use every day. Countless kinds of foods these days are mainly based on rice, or have rice on the side. As I use a rice cooker very often, and am interested in it, I visited the rice cooker page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: it’s unreliable due to age, it lacks completeness, and it lacks citations.

Age

Various pages in Wikipedia have been edited and are still being updated by many people, especially pages like Michael Jordan or Tesla, Inc. which a lot of people search for. However, the rice cooker Wikipedia page has been edited only a few times every month, and the information is old. A Rice cooker has developed significantly in the last decade by many methods from many companies, but these facts are not included yet.

Completeness

As I mentioned above, a rice cooker has been developed remarkably in the last decade. Many people showed their interest in the small appliance markets, and the rice cooker is one of the most essential appliances for countries that uses it every day. Many types of rice cooker such as electric rice cooker and pressure rice cooker have been shown in the markets from the 1960s, but this page does not include any of newer information, marketing trend, or how it developed for years.

Citations

It has a couple or few citations for each paragraph, but the citations on this page are old and not meaningful. For example, in the History section, there is only one citation, “Toshiba.” A rice cooker has been used from the early 1900s with different styles, but this page only talks about when the automatic electric rice cooker was first invented and didn’t put any details after that.

Conclusion

When I evaluated this page, I think it needs more newer information, citations, and edits according to: less reliable due to age, lack of completeness and citations. When it's updated from more people who knows better about the rice cooker and more meaningful citations I think people who look up this page can understand better.
