Enforcement Droid series 209, otherwise known as the ED-209, is a fictional robot that appears in the sci-fi action film RoboCop. ED-209 was designed by Craig Hayes and animated by Phil Tippett and was intended to be the original model used by Omni Consumer Products as a robot designed for law enforcement designed by Dick Jones. After the ED-209 model glitches and kills an executive, OCP greenlights the production of the RoboCop program. Jones would later use the ED-209 as a personal bodyguard to use against RoboCop. The ED-209 is featured in every live action RoboCop film.
