Lydia Deetz is a fictional character and the main protagonist from Tim Burton's 1988 horror-fantasy comedy film, Beetlejuice. Lydia is the Goth teenage daughter of Charles Deetz who moves from New York City to Winter River, Connecticut with her father and step-mother, Delia. In her new home, she encounters the ghosts of the former residents of the home, Adam and Barbara Maitland. Lydia also catches the attention of the trickster ghost, Betelgeuse. Lydia was portrayed by Winona Ryder in the film and voiced by Alyson Court in the animated series of the same name.
