Bio
[edit]About me:
[edit]I'm a high school student, who enjoys singing, dancing, and acting. I love music, some of my favorite songs include, "All Your'n" by Tyler Childers, "Pink Matter" by Frank Ocean, and "Wondering Why" by The Red Clay Strays. Academically speaking, my favorite subject is science, specifically biology, because I like learning about history of animals. Speaking of animals, I have a total of 6 pets, two dogs, a Cavalier king Charles spaniel and a German Shepard. Three cats, two Tuxedo cats and a Siamese cat. And a fish, named Ross.
My Wikipedia Interests:
[edit]When on Wikipedia, I don't really use Wikipedia for school, but I really enjoy learning about musicals and the history behind the making of them. I also use it to learn about new musicals and the meaning behind certain parts of the script or songs.
Article Evaluation
[edit]Thesis
[edit]I honestly looked up Hollywood Connection expecting it to be related to a dance competition, but I found something much different. I really liked researching about it and I think that really dials in on what Wikipedia is really about. I visited the Hollywood Connection article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its reliable sources and citations, missing information, and good overall information.
Reliable sources and citations
[edit]For the Hollywood Connection wiki page there are not that many citations and only two external links. Only one of the two external links are giving straight information about the show and the history, the other one I struggled with because I couldn't tell what it was bringing me to. The "Main game" section only has one citation related to the 'coin toss' but other than that, there are none. I'm sure there is more information to be given when found online and added into the wiki-page, which could be included in the "external links" section.
Missing information
[edit]There's a lot of good information on this page, although it's a very vague page. When I look up "Hollywood Connection game" I can easily find more information about it from multiple different sources that popped up. Because it was created in the 70's, it should have all of the facts, statements, and history from the time it aired until it stopped from whatever we can find online and in our history. One thing it could add to it is the names of the people starred in the show, since this is a program that happened more than 20 years ago and I found multiple sources with reliable information, there's no reason it cannot be added.
Good overall info
[edit]As much as I'm being nit-picky on this wiki-page, it does have good information. It thoroughly explains the game through different rounds and gives details on what happens each round. I find it funny how there is more information about the music rather than the actual games external links and references, but overall it gives you the point and makes you wonder if there's more to find.
Conclusion
[edit]Overall, i'd say the article is "okay". It didn't wow me as much in a good way rather than it did in a bad way. It had a good supporting and standing on information and it discussed the topic well, but didn't do a variety of things to make this article great, like citations, valid sources, etc. If this article changed to a more updated status on the "Hollywood Connection" game/TV show, I'm sure this would benefit the article and the subject greatly.
