I am a new artist committed to providing landscape art at prices anyone can afford. I am a self- taught artist who has experienced as many art failures as successes. I hope through this blog to provide daily recaps of what's worked for me and what hasn't. Quite frankly, I have very little innate artistic talent. If I can paint, anyone can. I hope to prove that through this blog.

That said, there is a bit of magic that happens when, from time to time, you can successfully put down on canvas what you see in your minds eye. I play chess. I once had a chess teacher who said you had to lose 100 games before you could even consider yourself good. This "rule of 100" seems to be holding true for my art. Thank goodness for gesso; I've certainly painted over a number of failed pieces of art. If I can learn to paint anyone can. I am happy to say that I have had some success with my paintings having sold a number during the last year or so.

It's also very cool to have someone come into your house( my house is lousy with my artwork; every wall, every empty space), see one of your pieces of art, and love it. When that happens I know I've tapped into something a bit more universal than my own personal tastes. In subsequent blogs I'll be sharing things that have worked for me and things that haven't.
