Shaoyi Sun is a Chinese film critic, author and professor. He currently teaches at Shanghai University and New York University's satellite campus in Shanghai.
Biography
[edit]Sun was born and raised in Shanghai, China. In 1991, he received his first MA in Modern Chinese Literature from Nanjing University. In 1997, he received his second MA in Film Studies from the University of Southern California. In 1999, Dr. Sun graduated from the University of Southern California with the Ph.D. disseration: "Urban Landscape and Cultural Imagination: Literature, Film, and Visuality in Semi-Colonial Shanghai 1927-1937."
