List of the oldest schools in Australia ...
The oldest schools in Australia established prior to 1850 and currently offering HSE exams qualify for this list. The criterion is adapted to keep the list relevant and to provide a comprehensive list to a reader. Why 1850 is the cut-off year is debatable, however there need to be cut off date and the date has to be realistic and relevant to Australia’s history. The other reason is to the list to be non-cumbersome of large number of Schools in the list.
1. The King's School (1831) (Boys)
2. Fort Street High School (1848) (Co- Education)
