School-Home Support

SHS is a national charity that, over its 27 years history, has developed unrivalled expertise in working with disadvantaged children who struggle to engage with school and learning due to challening home circumstances. SHS has worked with hundreds of thousands of children in thousands of schools around the country to ensure that children are in school and ready to learn.

SHS is based in east London but works throughout the UK and currently provides services to 750 schools. Children supported by SHS are dealing with situations where there is extreme poverty, mental health and addictive disorders, family breakdown, domestic violence and where children are carers. SHS does whatever it takes to get children to engage with learning in the belief that education is a fundamental right for all children and it can transform their lives. SHS is supported by a number of organisations including Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Mayors Fund, Bank of America/Merril Lynch, Matrix Law, Department for Education, Property Equity Foundation and others.
