My history on Wikipedia
[edit]I registered an account on Wikipedia on June 5, 2020. This is my sole account—I have had no prior accounts on Wikipedia. I do have experience with MediaWiki outside of Wikipedia and had contributed a few times to Wikipedia in the far past "anonymously" (i.e. without a registered account) if my memory serves correctly.
I keep myself to contributing mostly minor edits, any grammatical issues I spot while browsing I will usually correct. At times, I may also contribute to discussions on talk pages, although refrain from getting too involved in meta activities. My own personal use of Wikipedia consists mainly of reading whatever topic happens to interest me at the time, usually subjects pertaining to political science, engineering, biology, and astronomy.
Notable developments
[edit]2020
[edit]June
[edit]- June 5
- I registered my account on Wikipedia.
- I supported keeping the article on the 2020 shootings of Oakland police officers.
- I created my own user page.
- I supported the proposed merge of the article on George Floyd into the killing of George Floyd.
- June 26 – I supported classifying Antifa as "left-wing militants" in the respective article.
July
[edit]- July 2 – I suggested a request for comment on the inclusion of demographic statistics in the article for the white genocide conspiracy theory.
- July 5 – I opposed the proposed merger of the article on the police abolition movement into "defund the police".
- July 31 – I created a redirect for authoritative parenting.
August
[edit]- August 9 – My good faith edits to the article on Central Park were reverted by Smuckola in adherence to Wikipedia's guideline on logical punctuation. I thanked them for the correction.
- August 25 – I expressed mixed feelings on the essay proposing to ban Nazis from editing on Wikipedia.
December
[edit]- December 5 — I made my hundredth edit.
2021
[edit]May
[edit]- May 2 – I voted to preferably preserve the existing (then as of 2014) main photo on the article for Lee Kuan Yew.
- May 6 – I attempted to remove what I believed to be a fictitious (non-reliably sourced) colour value for Eigengrau from List of colors: A–F. This effort would be soon abandoned after a brief editing dispute.
