J. Stephen Bolhafner retired early from the Post-Dispatch in 2007, where he worked as a News Researcher. He is a generalist, rather than a specialist. In his spare time, he reads and collects comic books and graphic novels, mostly not superhero stuff (although he does have a soft spot for Batman and 1960s and early '70s Marvel comics). It may be partly because of his affection for a comic book called Cerebus that he speaks of himself in the third person.
