Scott B. Anderson has 30 years of experience in the media business and currently is an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism; a freelance writer and editor; and a content consultant.

Anderson spent 27 years at Chicago's Tribune Company, departing in April, 2008. Most recently, he'd been the head of editorial at Chicago-based Tribune Interactive (TI), the umbrella organization for Tribune’s award-winning national network of newspaper and broadcast station websites. Scott, the director of shared content for 10 years, poked his nose into a lot of things at TI and strove to be one of the company’s key trend spotters and advocates for innovation.

Anderson previously spent 17 years at Tribune’s South Florida Sun-Sentinel as an award-winning reporter and editor and then founding executive producer of its interactive businesses. Before that, he was a staff reporter at The Patriot Ledger newspaper in Quincy, Mass.

Anderson was author of a the respected industry weblog Online News Squared and a longtime active member of the American Society of News Editors, the Online News Association and Investigative Reporters and Editors.

He is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.
